The Chariot encourages us to master our mental skills, to navigate our karmic challenges, to balance our emotions, and to drive forward to reveal our destiny. This card represents the call of the warrior. It encourages us to recognize and act upon our inner potential.
In the natural world, the kingfisher dives fearlessly into dark waters to seek its prey. This act is symbolic of plunging into the unknown with confidence and fearlessness. The black and white alligators represent duality, and suggest a personal challenge to seek integration and develop self-mastery. The cypress vine, draped across the Chariot, symbolizes the celestial energies that guide our progress. The gladiolus is symbolic of the Roman gladiator, and represents strength of character and moral integrity.
The Nature Spirit Tarot took nine years to create: eight years of research, design and painting, and another year of production and self publishing. A great deal of research went into this project. Selecting just the right nature elements to express the meanings of these treasured cards was a project in itself. The tarot deck has a rich and extensive history, and continues to be a tool used and loved by many people.
Jean’s interest in the tarot originated with her journey of self exploration. The deck was designed as a tool for personal growth. The accompanying book, also written by Jean, reflects this character in its descriptions of the card.
